Describe your definition of the band’s sound and style and how does that
definition uniquely describe the music?
Phil Lee Fall: We are gothic rock for the 21 century. We come out of the best roots of 80s and 90s decades when we had started but having more than a 25 year break, we have absorbed the best of modern technologies and a fresh approach.

Today, everyone talks about artist and audience connection. Is such a level of
connection actually achievable for an artist and if so, how have you made the
connection to your fans?
Gatsby: Probably, we are a different kind of the band. Of course we are connected to our fans via social media, Bandcamp, etc., and we like to share news with them, but there is, to me, the only one important connection – through our songs. This is what we say, what we play and what we offer to the audience in the first place…nothing else is so important.

CV: Is fan
interaction an important part of the band’s inner culture?
Gatsby: As the previous answer leads to this one…we are zero effected by our fans. We love them we respect them, but what we do is just our business and they can share it with us.

CV: Can a
band truly interact with its fans and still maintain a level of personal
privacy without crossing the line and giving up their “personal space” in your
opinion?
Phil Lee Fall: Easily. That is just matter of decision if you wanna act like a stupid celebrity who shares everything from the kitchen or you you wanna be taken as somebody who just brings great music and the rest is none of others business.

CV: Is
music, and its value, viewed differently around the world in your opinion?
If so, what do you see as the biggest difference in such multiple views among
various cultures?
Phil Lee Fall: That is a really wide topic. Of course based upon our own experience we know that art itself is taken differently in various cultures. For example, we know that we are very warmly welcomed in Latin and South America. Probably our vibes are on the same level as their souls.

CV: Do
you feel that a band that has an international appeal, will tend to connect
more so to American audiences? Would they be more enticed or intrigued to see
the band over indigenous acts because of the foreign flavor?
Phil Lee Fall: It is a bit like the previous answer. But in general we consider ourselves as the band that doesn’t care about any borders. Gothic rock has a special audience and therefore we address all the good goths around the world!

CV: Has modern-day digital technology made everyone an artist on some level in your opinion? Have the actual lines of what really is an artist been blurred?
Gatsby: I wouldn’t blame modern digital technologies for that. There were, throughout the centuries, people pretending to be artists and they weren’t. It is about the definition of what art is and who’s the artist. But technologies in general enhanced the possibility to share everything with the world – your stupid Insta-stories to splendid musical compositions. So we are a bit overloaded not only with art but also with all the information…it’s a storm.
CV: How would you describe the difference between an artist who follows trends and one who sets them?
Phil Lee Fall: Idiot vs. Artist
CV: Has
music overall been splintered into too many sub-genres in an effort to appease
fan tastes in your opinion? And has such fan appeasements, in actuality,
weakened music’s impact as a whole by dividing audiences?
Gatsby: I agree. But it is a very natural process as we have a history of pop-music for about 70 years…if I count it from Rock’n’Roll times. But despite that, we are strongly based in the gothic rock genre. We write the songs that should definitely be taken by other music-lovers…especially since that we are not stuck in the goth rock clichés.
