Interview with Drummer Everett Jonas of Amenazar
By Mick Michaels
Cosmick View: Hello, Everett! Welcome to The Cosmick View. Thanks for taking some time out of your day to speak with us. It's greatly appreciated.
CV: What
do you feel is the allure your music has over competing artists and bands in
your genre? What has them taking notice in your opinion?
Everett Jonas: I feel our music is what sets us apart from other bands. The songs
are structured and well written. There's something for everyone to enjoy.
CV: Do you
think internet radio is a valuable resource as a modern mainstream outlet for
both upcoming and established artists? If so, why and if not, why not?
EJ: Absolutely. Everyone is tied to the internet in
some form or fashion today. More and more people are listening to internet
radio while moving through the information highway. Any help getting your music
out there to the masses is good for any artist at any level.
CV: In
your opinion, can an artist truly be independent given an industry that relies
heavily on big budgets and massive fan appreciation?
EJ: Yes. Our band is an example of how
any artist can be independent. I am not saying it’s easy. There are several platforms
and tools available that are tailored to support independent artist today.
CV: Tell
us a little about your current project? What can listeners expect to
hear? What makes it stand out in your opinion?
EJ: I our current project shows growth as musicians and as a band. Listeners can expect some well-crafted songs with good
solid rock n roll...there's no gimmicks. Our songs are very likeable and you
should be able to groove to them.
CV: Music
has a way of expressing things that words sometimes seem to fail at. How has
music helped you better express yourself?
EJ: By giving me an emotional outlet as
a drummer, I express myself by playing a major part in constructing and guiding
our songs.
CV: What
do you feel your music is saying to the world? And do you feel that message is
being heard?
EJ: I can't speak for the world, it's up to the listeners to take what they
want from our music...whatever message they want to hear is up to them.
CV: What
do you believe your greatest asset is as an artist? How have you seen that
asset benefit yourself and others?
EJ: My greatest asset is making the songs high and tight....to me it
benefits the listeners...and not just myself.
CV: What
more can fans expect to see coming from you in the near future?
EJ: As long as they will tune in and
give us a listen, they can expect more driven rock n roll...solid ass groovers!
CV: Thanks again Everett for taking the time to share with our readers. We wish you all the best and continued success.
