Interview with the Mighty Adam Bomb
By Mick Michaels
Cosmick View: Hello, Adam, and
welcome to The Cosmick View. Thanks
for taking some time out of your day to speak with us. It's greatly
appreciated.
CV: For any artist, longevity is the key to success. Longevity will always
provide an artist with an audience.  What do you consider to be your
greatest asset as an artist that has contributed to your success of having
longevity in the music industry?
Adam Bomb: Never giving up on your dreams. In my case it was
living with the guitar more than being a so-called rockstar. It’s about the music and
wanting to see the world… and only relying on you to make it happen. It’s not
about money. If you really want to do something and go somewhere - you’ll find
a way to get there
CV: With so much talk these days that
Rock is dead or that music doesn't matter to people anymore, it paints a very
bleak picture for up and coming young artists looking to make a splash. From
your point of view, is any of that true? Is music on the decline?
AB: So - music is not on the decline. Humanity is. There is
plenty to write about and find inspiration from. The advances in technology have
allowed all people the tools to make your voice heard.
CV: What do you feel has been the
greatest lesson you learned as an artist?
AB: From Edward Van Halen… telling me to not copy him like
every other guy in L.A. and to take it a step further.
From Johnny Thunders… who taught me to care so much I didn’t
care at all
CV: How would you define iconic when it comes to being a musical artist? Who is iconic to you?
AB: Ace (Frehley) Eddie, Jimmy Page, George Harrison and a long list of guitar players who came way before me.
CV: Are there times when an artist can
find that they're repeating themselves musically? How do you keep the music you
write fresh?
AB: I don’t know. You just grab it out of the air when you
can and maybe beware enough to know when it comes. I’m still that little kid
who tried to get backstage to meet his heroes and I’m still fascinated by great
songs and melodies and lyrics. It’s the purest form of self-expression
CV: What's your thoughts on artists and
bands currently relying on backing tracks to keep the live performances going?
Many critics believe it's disrespectful to the fans, yet it's still happening.
What do you think?
AB: I think the music industry feeds you what they want to
and stuffs it down your throat. There used to be a time before video
screens and backing tracks where artists had to capture the attention of an
entire arena with just a microphone, a guitar, and a spotlight. I was
privileged enough to realize that dream when I opened for the Scorpions this summer
in front of a sold out crowd at Nokia Arens in Tampere, Finland.
I did it without the use of screens and I owned that crowd after I finished my
30 minute set. I strutted out there just like if I was playing a little
club but I played to every part of that giant arena
AB: It just depends on how it’s used. AI is a great source to find information quicker than Google and it talks back to you… yes it can provide you with information that might help spawn your creativity
CV: What has music meant to you? How has
it changed your life, and what do you believe music has given you that nothing
else would have?
AB: Fuck the industry. It’s the music that
matters. Business and corporations can and will control you if you rely on
them. You’ll never be more powerful than the collective corporation and you would
have to eventually do what they say. I chose my own path and didn’t rely on a
record company or a booking agent or a manager or even a roadie or a driver to
go out and do over 2000 gigs.
CV: What more can fans expect to see
coming from Adam Bomb in the remainder of 2025 and beyond?
AB: I don’t know. I’ve been on the road for 10 months
straight. Right now I’m at Dieter Dierks studio waiting for Dieter to let
me finish a song I wrote for my late wife called Claire.
CV: Thanks again, Adam, for taking the time to share with our readers. We wish you
all the best and continued success.
