Interview with Glazergirl™

By Mick Michaels

COSMICK VIEW: Hello! Welcome to The Cosmick View. Thank you for taking some time out of your day to chat with me, it is greatly appreciated.
Glazergirl™ (aka GG): Thank you, Cosmick View, for the interview.

CV: What do you feel sets you apart from other artists, especially those of similar sound and style? What's the specific allure your sound and style has that gets people taking notice?
GG: Thus far I am not certain I sound like someone in particular you’ve heard before.
The underlying music, produced by George Pond, is of an active rock or modern rock style current to today. However, what you may find is a bit more of a storytelling nature to my lyrics and a hook to keep you singing along.

CV: For any artist, dynamics is key to grabbing an audience's attention. What do you feel is the main ingredient to having such a captivating dynamic and being able to bring something more to the music?
GG: Glazergirl™ plays to the emotion of the message of the song.

CV: How would you describe the ultimate musical experience for your fans? And how does artist go about creating that musical vision, while generating the impact they want to have on its audience?
GG: This is a new project that has as yet to test its meddle live, but from a visual scale the videos are meant to draw you in and keep you jamming to the tunes.

CV: The music business has always been one that regardless of who you are, where you came from or where you've been, you can either sink or swim.  Does this type of realism have any effect on how an artist drives themselves to succeed?
GG: As Glazergirl™, you either love the sound or it doesn’t work for you.  So far there has been a lot of positive reaction to the music.  The streams are tremendous from the word go.  I am grateful to the audience for its love and interest.

CV: In your opinion, is there any middle ground for a band or is it a do or die climate in today's music industry?
GG: Not sure if there is in fact a “middle ground”.  My previous band and I were “on the verge” with great opportunity just before “COVID” took over in 2020 and killed the music industry temporarily.  Thrilled that music is back and stronger than ever with audiences who crave live music.

CV: How would you describe your internal energy? Does your outward appearance align with the true inward nature from your perspective?
GG: I believe it will meet the public’s desire.

CV: What's at the core of your songwriting approach? Are there certain elements that are considered when a song begins to take form and evolves?
GG: A good story, a good lick and a basic approach makes for a song to evolve quickly.  If the story inspires me, I run with the ball.

CV: Do you allow things to just happen when writing; seeing where a song goes, or is there a certain course of action and structure you keep a song on, thus, essentially making it destined to achieve its overall potential?
GG: In the production of the EP, “Mothership,” once the songs were broken down and made sense, the potential thrived via production to really put it all together post recording.  Final touches really set it on its way.

CV: Do you feel how the fans and critics describe your music accurately reflects how you would describe your music?
GG: So far, yes.

CV: Walk us through a typical show for you...what can fans who have never seen you perform expect?
GG: In a past incarnation there was a lot of energy, but the style of music we were doing did not reflect where I wished to take the audience.  As Glazergirl™, the goal would be to entrench the sound in the listeners sound and mind.

CV: What more can fans look forward to seeing coming from you this year?
GG: More new music and live shows.

CV: Thank you again for spending some time talking and sharing with our readers. I wish you all the best and continued success.
GG: Thank you again, Cosmick View. My best!

My name is Mick Michaels...I'm an artist, music fan, songwriter, producer, show host, dreamer and guitarist for the traditional Heavy Metal band Corners of Sanctuary. Writing has always been a creative outlet for me; what I couldn't say in speech, I was able to do with the written word.  Writing has given me a voice and a way for me to create on a multitude of platforms including music and song, articles, independent screenplays, books and now, artist interviews. The Cosmick View is an opportunity to raise the bar and showcase artists in a positive and inspirational light. For me, it's another out-of-this-world adventure.
