Interview with Nick Testone Lead Guitarist of All Sinners

By Mick Michaels

COSMICK VIEW: Hello, Nick! Welcome to The Cosmick View. Thank you for taking some time out of your day to chat with me, it is greatly appreciated.
Nick Testone: Hello! Thanks so much for having us at The Cosmick View. We really appreciate the opportunity.

CV: What do you feel sets the band apart from other bands, especially those of similar sound and style? What's specific allure your sound and style have that has people taking notice?
NT: What sets All Sinners apart is that we don’t play what people want to hear, we play what we want to. We write and perform from a place that’s honest to who we are, not what’s trending. Our sound has a raw, nostalgic edge that pulls from ‘80s rock and metal, but with a modern punch. That vibe feels missing in today’s scene, and it’s something people connect with right away.

CV: For any band, dynamics is key to grabbing an audience's attention. What do you feel is the main ingredient to having such a captivating dynamic and being able to bring something more to the music?
NT: Chemistry is key - we feed off each other’s energy and bring raw emotion. It’s about making people feel the music, not just hear it.

CV: How would you describe the ultimate musical experience for your fans? And how does the band go about creating that musical vision, while generating the impact the band wants to have on its audience?
NT: The ultimate experience is full immersion in our energy and emotion. We prioritize authenticity and strive to create a lasting connection beyond the music.

CV: The music business has always been one that regardless of who you are, where you came from or where you've been, you can either sink or swim.  Does this type of realism have any effect on how the band drives itself to succeed?
NT: We understand how challenging the music industry can be, and that reality keeps us focused and motivated. It drives us to work hard, stay authentic, and keep moving forward no matter what.

CV: In your opinion, is there any middle ground for a band or is it a do or die climate in today's music industry?
NT: It can feel do or die, but staying true and adaptable lets you find your own steady path to success.

CV: How would you describe the band's internal energy? Does the band’s outward appearance align with its true inward nature from your perspective?
NT: Our energy is intense and driven, and what you see on stage is a true reflection of who we are inside - genuine and raw.

CV: What's at the core of the band's songwriting approach? Are there certain elements that are considered when a song begins to take form and evolves?
NT: At the core of our songwriting is a strong idea - whether it’s a riff, a melody, or a lyrical hook. We let things evolve naturally at first to see where the songs want to go, but we also know when to tighten it up and give it structure.

CV: Do you allow things to just happen when writing; seeing where a song goes, or is there a certain course of action and structure you keep a song on, thus, essentially making it destined to achieve its overall potential?
NT: It’s a balance between instinct and intention. Letting the song breathe in the early stages, then shaping it so it hits with full impact.

CV: Do you feel how the fans and critics describe the band’s music accurately reflects how you would describe the band’s music?
NT: I would say so - fans and critics often pick up on the raw energy and throwback edge we aim for. It’s always interesting to hear what people take from it.

CV: Walk us through a typical show for the band...what can fans who have never seen you perform expect?
NT: An All Sinners show hits hard with powerful vocals, thunderous bass, driving drums, melodic guitars and ripping solos.

CV: What more can fans look forward to seeing coming from the band?
NT: Fans can look forward to the release of our new album “We own the night” on November 14. We’re also celebrating with shows that same night at the Rochester opera house in Rochester, NH, and the following night, November 15th, at The Met in Pawtucket, RI. We’re always pushing ourselves to evolve, so there’s plenty more to come.

CV: Thank you again for spending some time talking and sharing with our readers. I wish you all the best and continued success.
NT: Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us and share our story with your readers. We truly appreciate the support and wish you all the best as well. Looking forward to what’s next!

My name is Mick Michaels...I'm an artist, music fan, songwriter, producer, author, show host, big dreamer and guitarist for the traditional Heavy Metal band Corners of Sanctuary. Writing has always been a creative outlet for me; what I couldn't say in speech, I was able to do with the written word.  Writing has given me a voice and a way for me to create on a multitude of platforms including music and song, articles, independent screenplays, books and now, artist interviews. The Cosmick View is an opportunity to raise the bar and showcase artists in a positive and inspirational light. For me, it's another out-of-this-world adventure... so let it begin!
